Re: Stricken from the record
My dog took a nip at my father, causing him to flinch and hit his hand on a wall-hanging nail. He went to the hospital to get the wound cleaned and stitched. The guy is a retired physician and over-reacts to everything. I've nicked myself worse shaving. While at the hospital the story got changed, through a little embellishment from an 85-year-old chatterbox, that a dog had bitten him. Not quite the truth but I ended up in court because my dogs rabies vaccination had lapsed the week of the incident. The dog had since then been revaccinated. The incident was reported by the hospital to the health department and animal control as a dog biting by an unvaccinated dog. I had to go to court and pay a fine. Five years later I checked to see if that "crime" was still listed on the books and, sure enough, it was. I called the District Court to see about having that removed from my record and was told that it could not be expunged. I had been convicted of a crime and would have to have a governor's pardon to get that removed from my record. And Janklow will have this stricken from his record.
