Hi guys. The saddlebag on my '91 ST 1100 Honda keeps unhinging itself . It stays connected to the lock and key section but unhooks from the area underneath the seat. Has anyone experienced this ? Any fixes? Ps. It only happens on the left side.

The rail on which the case hangs is a plastic piece bolted in three places. Two of the attachment points can be seen under the seat, and the third is near the latch that secures the case to the bike.

Possible causes of the case not staying hung are a broken hanger rail and missing bolts. Also, the hanger is bolted to the frame through rubber grommets to allow some movement. It's possible that a grommet has deteriorated to the point that the hanger no longer remains positioned correctly to retain the case.

Your saddlebags have been infested with attorneys. This is a major problem, that has grown to epidemic levels lately. Clear the brush and overgrown weeds from around the saddlebags, and use a good pesticide. Also, don't leave full pet food containers in or around the saddlebags, as free food will attract even more attorneys, and you'll be back to square one.
