I've got a '93 Yamaha Seca II (XJ 600) I've just begun work on. While working on the rear wheel (following the vague and horrible Yamaha shop manual) I removed the two retaining bolts on the rear brake caliper.

Now I'm trying to get everything back together and the retaining bolts won't go back into the slots they came out of. I'm trying not to disassemble/drain the brake system. Anyone know what's going on?

I'm off to try to find some decent shop manuals.

Thanks.

Unless aliens have welded up the holes to drive you nuts, you should be able to bolt the caliper back on the caliper holder with attention to detail. First try screwing the bolts in WITHOUT the caliper, that will give you some idea where the holes are, and you should be able then to determine where they are with the CALIPER in place.

Good luck.
