This is obviously an old article, but the misstatements in it are floating around the web so here are some facts.
It was the FLT and FXR frames that were the first that were developed by using computer aided design (CAD), not the Dyna-Glide.
The two rubber-mounts of the Dyna frame do not control vibration as well as the three rubber mounts of the FXR at any rpm. Where the mirrors on a Dyna are mostly useless at speed, the FXR's are clear.
The article does correctly state that the early Dyna frame flexed enough to crack inner primary cases, which belies the later statement that the Dyna frame has greater rigidity than the FXR. In fact, it was the flimsiness of the Dyna frame that forced Harley to solidly bolt the engine case to the transmission, thereby using the drivetrain to stabilize the frame.
As for the personal preferences in the article, it says that staffers would rather have the drag bar, which forces the rider into a hunched over racing posture, as opposed to the buckhorn, which allows an upright riding posture and places your hands in the most comfortable and natural position. But then you say you'd rather have forward controls as opposed to the normal mid mounts- Two strangely opposing viewpoints.
