i would just like to know why the zx9r wasn't included. its stock horsepower is just as much as the 954 but with 54 less cc's. with the $1100 dollars you save on the 9r you could easily drop 20 or more pounds, add an extra 7 or so horsepower and have money to spare. You would also have a comfortable bike. And if you REALLY wanted to level the field. add a 98 cc MUZZYS big bore kit and you will smoke em all. By the way I own a '02 9r and the 954's and R1's still cant hang light to light!!!!!

If you can find a 98 Busa you had better take good care of it because you will have the only one ever produced.
Forget the $1100 that you can save by purchasing an 02 9R and get a leftover 01. I just picked mine up last month for $7999. There is nothing that can touch the performance for that price.
I have to give all the credit to Hooked on Phonics
Hey monkey spank, unless you were taking your bike back to Japan and speaking directly with Kawasaki engineers, the manufacturer didn't tell you anything. You were dealing with a sucka$$ dealer and all manufacturers have some sorry dealers.

Every manufacturer has put out bikes that have had some issues. Maybe you forgot about the Gixxer 750's from a few years ago that had a nasty habbit of slamming the pistons into the valves and Suzuki tried to blame it on the riders before installing thicker head gaskets.

So your bike dynoed low, big deal. Unless you were at a very high dollar shop most likely the dyno was off. Besides if you dyno ten bikes you'll find as much as a 10% difference in power output between them.

Carb icing is the least of my concerns in Houston, hell carb icing would be kind of nice in August.

Yes I just bought a leftover 01 and no it's not in the same league as the others in the test, however, there's nothing else out there that can match its performance for the $7999 that I paid for it.

Finally, stop whinning like a little biatch.

It's amazing how online everyone works in the business. Well, I guess sweeping floors in a bike shop isn't high enough up on the food chain to get results.
