Virtual weigh-in indeed.

So, you were able to dyno the bikes but not able get a "ready to ride, full tank of gas" weight in the comparison chart? Neither are there measurements of the seat, bars, pegs triangle nor the seat height (all typical of the specs usually provided e.g., by RoadRacing World). Considering that this test is likely not to be decided by power, one would think that first measurements would be the ergonomic factors shown in a convenient side by side comparison chart. Gosh, what's the world coming to?

Any performance difference between any of these bikes in the real world is most likely to come down to the riders. You should be happy in any case. Incidentally, every change made to the bike dings away at the warranty - I'd expect the warranty to essentially evaporate if a big bore kit is installed. You might not care, I would. I'm bored with fiddling with bikes, I just want to ride them. If I have to change a given bike to make into the bike really I want then it's the wrong bike for me. YMMV...

The argument is irrelevant - Re: 2002 Openclass Shootout, Part I

Whether your arguments are true or not is completely irrelevant. Most decisions in life are ultimately not based on logic but rather on subjective factors. I for one am glad of this since few aspects of our lives are logically necessary. Life is short, ride hard.

While I read motorcycle.com frequently, it's not at the top of my list of favorites nor is it second. IMO, the two best are www.amasuperbike.com and RoadRacingWorld.com (which comes in paper as well). As an example, here is something fun from amasuperbike.com that you may eventually read at MO: At Laguna Seca, Doug Chandler is only a tenth off Nicky Hayden's time for yesterday, a tenth ahead of Anthony Gobert and 1.2 seconds ahead of Mladin! This after many months of Chandler not racing. I'd love to say it's the big beautiful red Duc he's riding, but I can't, Picotte had the chance on the same frappin bike but didn't do it - it's Chandler (and to think that Chandler is dyed Kawasaki green - sigh). Mladin is toast
