Re: Enough of this Political Correctness

My family tree is 100% Irish, my full name is Sean Kealan Alexander (about as Irish as you can possibly get) So please understand when I say "Lighten up you scrappy drunken mick!"

Yeah, but Daytona wins get all the press...

I can't tell you who won Supersport, but I can tell you that Miguel did a third on his 600RR and then won Superbike. I'd know more, but Speed decided to screw around with their schedule...

Jamie Hacking on the Yamaha R6, with Buckmaster 2nd on another R6 and T. Hayden 3rd on the Kawi. Honda was a distant fifth with Zemke (over 100 points back), and 11th with Miguel.

Re: Steering damper

Honda doesn't do recalls since their bikes are all perfect. They are merely fixing the problems that were caused to said bearings by all those abusive owners.

Re: Probably for homologization purposes...

When discussing Honda never forget that they proudly released the new improved V-Tec Interceptor, which turned out to weigh more and have less power than the previous bike.

It's better 'cause Honda says it is. End of discussion. Point out Honda's mistakes or doanything but kiss their butts and you lose your right to future test bikes like happened to MO.

OK,

So today's the 23'rd - Where's the big comparo you promised on the 22nd - or are we to believe that cruiser mishmash you actually posted represents a new class of stock racers the AMA is going to unleash on a track......nah, there ain't no Honda entry. Of course, it WOULD be interesting to see the FAITHFUL (both US and Teutonic) flocking to the tracks to watch the duel, er.... competition.

Re: Probably for homologization purposes...

You are correct on point a, but steering dampers do not require homologation, as every race organization I know of allows adding or replacing steering dampers in all classes.

I will bet you that the bikes BBoz, Duhamel and Zemke tested at Daytona did not have factory steering dampers.

No coincidence that Honda will not have any factory bikes in either of the closer to production classes this year -- they will run their 600s in the new FX class -- basically 600cc superbikes. They only do well with full mega$$$ efforts with lots of trick, one-off parts. When they have to compete with equipment that everyone else can buy (eg production bikes with aftermarket shocks and exhaust) they usually lose.

Notice how few late model Hondas you see in club racing?

Re: Enough of this Political Correctness

First of all, your family tree may be Irish, but you're not; you're American (you should be happy enough with just that; it's a great place). I'd appriciate no further attempts to devalue my cultural currency.

Second, if you insist on calling me a "Drunken Mick," you fat-arsed, homely-looking, obnoxious Yank, I'd like my $12 back.
