Poor KP

Yeah I agree with ya JB. I don't know why he hangs out here either. Since he doesn't know anything about motorcycles, and even less about politics, maybe he should hang out in the third grade online classes. For a guy like him to come here and act like a complete a$$hole, and then complain about getting ripped up, is the funniest thing I have EVER heard. You get what you give here. He gives shyt and he gets it. Too bad for him.

2a. Freudian Projection

The following is a collection of definitions of projection from orthodox psychology texts. In this system the distinct mechanism of projecting own unconscious or undesirable characteristics onto an opponent is called Freudian Projection.

• "A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits."

• "The externalisation of internal unconscious wishes, desires or emotions on to other people. So, for example, someone who feels subconsciously that they have a powerful latent homosexual drive may not acknowledge this consciously, but it may show in their readiness to suspect others of being homosexual."

• "Attributing one's own undesirabe traits to other people or agencies, e.g., an aggressive man accuses other people of being hostile."

• "The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest. The would-be adulterer accuses his wife of infidelity."

• "People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others. An individual who unconsciously recognises his or her aggressive tendencies may then see other people acting in an excessively aggressive way."

• "Projection is the opposite defence mechanism to identification. We project our own unpleasant feelings onto someone else and blame them for having thoughts that we really have."

2b. (General) Projection

Here projection is assuming that others act or perceive similarly - according to this definition it is not necessary for a projected trait to be undesirable or unconscious. Projection is probably inherent in social animals and the single most important psychological mechanism. The following are given as examples:

Individual A assumes that B sees the colour red as he does, until informed that B is colour-blind;

Someone who never lies is easy to deceive because he projects his truthfulness onto others, assuming that others are honest also;

‘It takes one to know one’;

An inept con-man fears that others are trying to cheat him, signals his fear and alerts others;

(Freudian) An individual who possesses malicious characteristics, but who is unwilling to perceive himself as a protagonist, convinces himself that his opponent feels and would act the same way.

The Coolest Thing

Is I'm not into all the "Freudian Bullshyt". Doesn't take any study to identify and a$$hole. KPaul is one and you aren't. Nuff said on that one. JB yer crying in your beer because the admitted war criminal lost. Too bad, so sad. Hey, you don't vote anyway, so it really shouldn't matter should it?

Action needed to be taken? Are you sure about needing to take the action of spreading it across an entirely different news item?

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a very dangerous place. Stay away. Virginia is as ugly as North Carolina. Go ride in Kansas: much better roads and scenery.

Seriously though, I prefer the BRP mid-week, off-season, by my lonesome on a quiet bike. What a great way to get to nowhere in particular. And there are other roads along the BRP just as nice with wider shoulders that go largely unpatrolled. Keep your eyeballs open on the 45mph BRP.

I didn't say I hated Americans I said if I were American I'd be pissed.....

You couldn't travel south america, europe, asia, etc without encountering blind resent from most of the people you come across. I would be pissed about that if I were american. Is that strictly because of GW Bush? No of course not but his decisions just made you millions of new enemies and put you at further risk from terrorist attacks.

Most every american I meet points out to me how much of a joke canada is and how much better the US is than us. By the way we're pissed at you guys for breaking with nafta to put huge tarrifs on our lumber and beef exports.

Oh c'mon! Now your projecting! Don't you know any time you criticize a liberal, there is something wrong with you? For such a free thinking and tolerant ideology, they sure are closed minded and intolerant of any opinion other than their own. Since the Dems lost House and Senate seats and Bush gained 3.5 million votes since last time around, maybe it's time they look in the mirror?

BTW I am more pissed at my own government than anyone elses'. I've voted against them in the last 2 federal elections but eastern Canada keeps voting them back in. They are corrupt, self-serving, greedy hypocrite bastards that don't deserve their jobs. So don't take my comments as righteous they weren't meant that way.

Hey I vote conservative in my country, but our conservatives are more liberal than your liberals are. Our liberals are more like socialists and our socialists are more like communists. It's all skewed to the left a bit. So does that make me liberal? well maybe. What's my point? I don't know.
