While it looks like one heck of a bike it's price will likely keep its sales down in MV Agusta numbers. No real threat to the Big4.

High altitudes? Over 6000 ft? Get a large displacement bike. Power seriously decreases at altitude. Much more noticeable on a 600 than a literbike.

Re: Walther p99

The irony is that in States where concealed carry is easily issued you don't often need one! Criminals are cowards and they usually move to places with easier pickings.

It's nice to live in a place where the cops thank you for killing a burglar. Unlike LA or NY where they do everything they can to prosecute the homeowner.

Who's fussing? BMW will charge the moon for it. It'll sell to the well-heeled in limited numbers. For that sort of money I'll own 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 motorcycles and have 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 times the fun while the Beemer owners are posing up and down Sunset. Life will go on. All will be well.

Re: Useless, Expensive, Weight-Adding Brake Tech

Agreed. Expect the Govt to mandate linked braking in a few years. All thanks to the manufacturers who peddle this crap. The IIHS will get the crazy idea that it is safer and will order their lackeys in the DOT to mandate it.

We barely escaped a linked braking mandate that Carter's wacko DOT Sec, Joan Claybrook, had ready to fly in the 70's. The Reagan Administration mercifully cancelled the rule.

Think we'll dodge this bullet again?

I'm not exactly sure how innovative a girder front end is, but we'll soon see how the bike stacks up un comparison.

Several attempts have been made to replace the telescopic fork. Remember the ill-fated ELF bikes? None of the attempts have succceeded in a racing environment. Apparently the "solutions" to inherent telescopic fork problems introduce other problems that in the end are worse.

Since what the racers use drives much of the market, like it or not, that's what you'll see people buying.

The added bonus for the Beemerphiles is that their specialized suspension will give them yet another reason to look down their noses at the rest of us.
