I can't see any accessories or anything that's been added or removed when I compare it to the photos from the Buell site, so no, I think it's the stock TT.

The Vectrix sounds like a winner if they can bring the price down closer to that of the large gas-powered scooters.

It takes two hours for a full charge (about 20 cents' worth of electricity), which will give you a 68-mile range at urban speeds (25 mph).

If you got half that range with a mix of highway/urban riding, that's 34 miles for 20 cents, or 0.006 cents per mile.

Even if you rode 500 miles a week, it would only cost you three dollars!

You may well be right;but is there much dirt tracking in Europe? There maybe at the amateir level;I just havent heard about it. Id like to see it here since Im a dirt track fan;it would be neat to see a purpose built twin take on the XR750's. i was hoping the KTM twin would take em on but so far a serious effort hasnt materialized. The Suzuki twins are making progress and the Aprilia effort shows promise but Im not sure these efforts will bear fruit.

The folks making Vectrix Scooters show a certain amount of courage, displaying their wares in the land of Lambretta, Piaggio, etc. I would think that if the regenerative brake does its job, it could be a winner in urban riding. There is a lot of gas that gets used up, only to heat the brakes at the next stop light. That's true whether its your standard SUV or a Big 4 Rickeyracer.



If the quoted range is 60+ miles at a steady speed, it should go all day in congested traffic, I'd think. If I ever move out of the sticks (nearest town with 10,000 people is 80 miles away), I would think hard about an electric scooter.



Well, it wouldn't sound as good as my Ducati - but then nothing from the Big 4 or Milwaukee does either.

Electric shmectric. When will auto (and motorcycle manufacturers, for that matter) realize that they are spending too much time and money trying to develope "alternate" electric powered machines to answer the hollow screems of the envirofreaks? We are not going to run out of oil, but along the same lines, we may run out of people willing to support the means to obtain oil.

Here's my question:

Why haven't motorcycle manufactureres investigated/spend some time looking into the prospect of diesel powered motorcycles? I've seen the VW custom built rigs that make 300 ft lbs of torque, and get 110 miles to the gallon (some such ridiculous figures). Seems to me if you want to make an enviromentally friendly (politically correct) motorcycle, you invest in the diesel technology. Audi has proven that diesels are NOT slow, lumbering, smoke-belching rattle traps by the introduction of their Lemans TDI V12 race car. I think the potential of diesel engines is much greater than most of us realize.

Besides, how "friendly" to the fake enviromental god are stacks of scrapped electric motors and batteries from dead cars and bikes in toxic salvage yards?

The earth continues to produce more oil, and we continue to hamper extended means of obtaining it.....real efficient indeed.
