I've always liked Biketoberfest better than Bike Week. It's pretty much the same event with (as noted) 1/3 fewer people. You're more likely to have good weather too; March is frequently very cold and wet. I didn't make it this year due to my new status as single parent, but there sure were a boatload of bikes around Cocoa Beach when we visited Mom's last weekend. My pal went, and he said it was as busy as previous years.

If you like Daytona but don't like idling on Beach and Main Streets for hours, Biketoberfest is the place to be! Whoever's running the races up there these days should hold a season closer like the Daytona 200 race days for BTF.
