"So, if you're someone who doesn't like the looks of the Vision of today, you may only have yourself and your riding buddies to blame for not poo-pooing the Vision 800 sooner."

Well hold on there a minute! If they'd built something like the bike in the photos, the impressions of the Vision might have been a lot different. Instead, it looks to me like they took some cues from the Vision 800 and then morphed it into a Batman version of the HD Ultra Classic.

It is good to have Victory in the market, regardless of the Vision.
I worked with the 1st Atl dealership and saw the origination and development happen. A decade later, the bikes are vastly improved, have decent road manners and are fun. I know people have a problem with Polaris because of problems with their off-road products, but those are the same people that have to be reminded of the fact the Victory is run as a seperate company. They don't rely on Corperate for R&D and all the vital aspects it takes to operate Victory. These guys have done a fine job in starting, marketing and selling their products. Good for them. I'm glad that Victory is in this position. EH, Indian, Titan and gobbs of others should have been envious of the job that Victory has done. They actually may be.
Victories (like the Hammer S) are cool bikes, but that Vision is just plain huge. If I'm gonna be on something that big, I might as well just drive a car.
Most of the Victory models look great, but that Vision is Coyote Ugly in a big way. If it fell on me I'd gnaw my arm off to get away from that thing. If that is the next 'Big Thing' in motorcycles, I'll have to stick with the last one.
I hope they sell well because it seems like Victory put a lot of money into it. That could sink them if the bike is a failure.
Probably....

... won't be a problem. The total numbers are 8K units per year for Victory's total production of all models. Even if they only sell a thousand they'll probably make their goals. Since a few thousand custom Choppers are sold each year there are probably enough Flash Gordon/Matrix/Star Trek wannabes in the US to buy a thousand of these personal flitters or ornithopters or batmobiles or whatever the heck they are.

haha... they could organize group rides to sci fi conventions :)
Victory had a booth at the recent Del Mar motorcycle show. I like most of the Victory bikes but that vision is just horrible.

I sat on one and checked it out from all angles and it's ugly in a Chuck Barris kind of way. Garish, tacky, ungainly, embarrassing are words that come to mind.

Yeah, but it's got that sweet tractor beam.

-Will it also make you claim that you are a CIA hitman?

First you'd have to get those nerds out of the house. Maybe you could slip poptarts under the door of their mother's basement.

Maybe even style the dash area like their mother's basement and then replace the goofy, mile-long handlebars with a joystick control.

I always like Thew Gong Show. Maybe I'll get used to that Ugly Vision.
Instead of a helmet you can were a paper bag and ride around as the Unknown Comic.

I'm talking about the Hollywood guy that made all the ugly cars. Did I get the name wrong?

Gong!
George Barris is the guy.
George Barris is the guy.
OK well if Chuck Barris designed motorcycles, it would look like the Vision.
Fuji Industries!

Yes, Fuji Industries, the power behind Victory- Polaris. Just another Jap bike, trying to look like a Harley. Feh.
I think for the most part Victory's are pretty cool bikes. I specially like the Vegas, it's a nice clean well balanced design. If I wasn't such a Harley snob I might even buy one, in fact I think the '08 Victory's put most '08 Harley's to shame. I saw some guy riding a Vision on Superbikes last night, they all went to Sturgis to (and I quote) "represent".... any-who, the bike actually didn't look too bad in a dynamic state rolling along at different angles. I guess I should reserve judgment untill I can get a closer look, whatever the case my be I hope they make a go of it as a company.
