Came across the following article on the release of the 09 Indians. 2009 Indian Motorcycles - First Look - MotorcycleUSA.com The base model Chief is listed at $30,999.00 and the full up touring package is around $34,500.00. Guess they haven't been watching the business channel.

Oh looky. An undersquare air-cooled pushrod operated V-twin. How unique. That's gonna set the world on fire.

But on the plus side they're going to distinguish themselves from HD by mounting the speedo higher. There should be a big lineup to pay 2X HD costs for this unique offering.

Well, something's prolly gonna catch-aflame..............

While initial prognostications quoted an ambitious release date of late fall 2007, that time frame has come and gone. But still no new Indians. Now we're almost halfway into 2008, and speculation as to what the new line of Indians would look like remained a mystery. Until now.
Uh, NO. Sorry. That answer is Incorrect. Everybody knew EXACTLY what the new Indian was going to look-like: another cheap Harley-Clone dressed-up with droopy fenders an' a bit O' fringie-crap around the saddle an' saddlebags. Mebbe with some O' them tassles hangin' from the bars, an' a Wideglide-knockoff front fork..........

We were only praying we were wrong.

The so called "Power 105" motor may not be made at the S&S factory, but S&S sure as h3ll designed the original "Power 100" mill for Indian just before the CMC/Indian connection imploded last time.

What a crock o sh*t....that dead horse ain't gonna' take too many more whacks for it turns to mush.

Just for fun how about some real innovation, like putting the final drive on the right hand side and enclosing it, maybe a neo-girder front end like a real *****... of course then you'd need to like design something instead of doing the catalog custom trip...

Better yet, why not design a complete bike like Triumph or Victory did? There's your business model, you could copy a 1st edition Kawasaki Concourse, maybe a ZX10 and have a relitivly modern Indian instead just churning out the same ol crap that every other ass hole has churned out trying to pick a few chunks off what is a truly rotten corpse? better yet quit embarressing yourself and everyone involved with this excersise in futility and just go away.

Y'all have it all wrong! They are actually cloning the Polaris Victory and adding deeply valanced fenders and stuff.

I liked this gem: The closed loop sequential port fuel injected powerplant is claimed to put out 100 lb-ft of torque, but Indian admits that this initial projection is still arbitrary. That's a fine way to say: "we're just making **** up."

Why that's crazy talk !!

The ultimate fight of the King Kongs of the Motorcycle World, this and a Harley. Is one of them going to break the much feared 64 rwhp limit? Awesome.

How many people alive today could actually control such power !!!

Except in this case the Harley will be half the price of the competitor.

When was the last time you were able to say the Harley was the better priced product?!
Not only that - it's almost certainly the more-RELIABLE product in this case as well!
