Not dropping your bike for one whole summer doesn't exactly make you an expert. And OF COURSE you lost money if you sold your bike in the Fall. That's when all the lemmings go back to cars. The prices escalate again in spring, when the same people start thinking about motorcycles. 600's are peaky, lightning quick, and will get you into trouble in a nanosecond. The largest proportion of motorcycle fatalities happen between the first few months, when you're intimidated, and about a year, when people start thinking they've got this motorcycle stuff all figured out. I've been riding nearly 40 years, and I'm still learning. If humility is ever a good idea, it's on a motorcycle.
