Well I was stationed at NAS Oceana in VF33 from 1977 to 1980 and our boat was the Indy, CV62, where there were real bugs in the bug juice and JP5 in the fresh water supply. BT3 Snarli use to steal my Dirt Bike magazines and hide me from the MAAs in the machinery spaces when the aroma of red leb got too thick in the mess cook compartment. Also, I use to ride a 1970 CB100 Honda all the way up I-60 to pier 9 at Norfolk when I had to (to clean up our compartment on the 03 level before we made another carribex). PR3 when I got out in 1980. Welcome aboard jarhead.

Didja ever hang out in the vent filter cleaning compartment that was right over sponson 8? The MAAs would hang out there to make sure the trash detail poked holes in the trash bags, and we'd blow copious amounts of blue smoke down on the sponson, and the MAA's would go nuts trying to find out who was smoking the evil stuff and run around like the weasels looking for who was puffing on it. Hahahha. They never found out (we could look right through the vent in the deck of the shop and see the whole sponson).
