If there's a Cycle Gear franchise around they're pretty good, I think they're only on the West Coast though. Other than that you're going to have to look in the phone book and see what's around for your area. Any decent sized city should have a few options other than authorized dealers.

You could also be a total cheapskate and go try stuff on at the dealerships to see what works for you then buy online from M.A.W. or MotorcycleUSA Superstore..

Since we don't know where you are it's tough being anymore specific than that.

Helmets: find one that fits and is comfortable. Stay away from Icon.

Clothing: Look for ARMORED LEATHER for protection. Don't forget pants - jeans won't protect you at ALL. Also get boots that cover the ankle, and good leather gloves.

Again, stay away from Icon.
Well don't leave us hanging Darlin'...What's wrong with Icon????

Seriously, I Stick to Shoei's myself but is there an issue with Icons? I don't recall hearing anything but if you had a bad experiance then let us know what's what?

I wear my riding pants untill it gets too warm, after that I wear jeans. Aerostitch makes a pair of summer weight Darien pants so I'll most likely buy a pair for the hot weather. It's only upper 80's and 90's here for a month or two usually but I still feel better geared up, must be gettin' old......

If he was really smart, he'd be in that SUV 100% of the time running motorcycists over and claiming he didn't see them. Best game in town.
That sum'b*tch just cost me $900 f*ckin' dollars parts and labor +tax for a new radiator and hose's............

The dam* things plastic, It appears they're all plastic now-a-days and you can't repair them, just toss it and buy a new one.......

I think I'm gonna' trade it for a '75 Bronco
