Learning Curve

I heard pretty much the same things I'm seeing in the posts when Honda started selling big bikes in the US. If these guys are this good out of the box, in a few years they're going to be selling a LOT of bikes. I'll bet their product cycles will be much faster than the established builders and their 2ond and 3rd generation bikes will be outstanding, and relatively cheap. The Chinese will do the same in spades. What a great time to be a rider, so many cool choices...

A good chick's bike

Nice review.. I can see how it could be confused with the V-Rod from a distance.. I think it might be a good bike for my wife.. If I could get some HD stickers to put on it. Great pictures...

The big factor is the exchange rate...

I think the exchange rate will continue be the biggest factor in how these bikes will sell, because in that market segment price is everything. [*]With W's reckless fiscal policy of record budget deficits. which will be passed on the next administration and generation, you will see the dollar to continue it's death sprial See the 5 year chart [*]The Chinese currency has been falling ever since it was unpegged. [*]So the Koreans are figuring out that those dollars we pay them aren't worth much. Our manufacturing base is gone, hi-tech is crippled and our Walmart economy won't be able to sustain our appepite for Japanese, Chinese and Korean goods. Plus oil prices will rise because the Arabs will figure out that our dollar isn't worth shyt. [*]Thank God we have the worlds most productive farmers and the best aerospace companies in the world exporting planes, satellites , missiles, fighters, etc.

I'm waiting to see what they can do with a 1000 cc twin. Might be interesting. They could really have something in another 5 years. They have sound concepts and are targeting the right groups. I bit of improvement in disign and overall quality, then who knows...

Re: Correction

Educate yourself about China's banking system. Seeing as how you're so fond of bleating about ticking time-bombs.

"If I were in the market for something on the level of a 750Shadow/800Marauder... you bet."

Yeah, right. Kind of a big if. When you get one, post pics somewhere. Anyway, I was asking Gabe since he said he would consider it. The reason being that if you are going to use a reviewer's opinion on something as part of a buying decision, it is good to know where they are coming from. After reading Gabe's other stuff over the last couple of years, I would have said there is about as much of a chance of him spending his own money on one of these goofy Avitar things as a Bergman 400. But he said he would, so I guess I was wrong. Unless he is not serious. Which is what I was trying to find out.

The looks are questionable, the build quality is

maturing, the dealer base is sparse....sounds like Hydundai in the '90s....look at them now!

Korean engineering is world class, so I expect these bikes to improve by leaps and bounds...clean up all the loose ends and this bike is a class winner!

You're right. This country's going to hell in a handbasket. You should leave while you can.

Unless you're worried like a 40 year old soccer mom about maintenence/ dealer base, or if you don't HAVE a dealer within distance (most of us), HOW THE HELL could you possibly want a similarly priced honda with 1/2 or 2/3rds the horsepower as this?

Anyone who knows about hyosung knows that it's an established company, and already makes a pretty good product. They have my preferred equation down: cruiser styling, sportbike engine. I'll be anxiously awaiting more long-term reviews, and especially 1/4 mile times etc.

I'd just take a hacksaw and some black paint to the thing - bingo!
