"then BrowningBAR will be owning beach front property. Cool!"
--That's funny that you mention that. We named the property "Arizona Bay". A poke at when Cali slides into the ocean (Both the band "Tool" and Bill Hicks reference the term Arizona Bay), but it is just as applicable for when the oceans rise up and swallow everything.

That's the great thing about trucks, they never really go out of style and always maintain their usefulness. I plan on doing the same thing. I'll just throw a new engine in it when it's needed in 10 years.

The land is good. The price hasn't shot up all that much, but that doesn't worry me one bit. Mostly that means the idiots with Big Ideas haven't found the place, yet (They found Sedona, though). There is talk of build a town in the area to alleviate traffic/pollution in the Grand Canyon area. Something about shuttling in the visitor via electric powered buses, or something warm and fuzzy like that.

I figured I need about two more years before I can build anything on it. I'm doing some renovations to the Farmhouse over the next two years, so that takes priority.

Right now I have a contractor over here jacking up some of the foundation to level out the flooring in the living room. Man, really old house are freakin' cool! The first floor support beams are these gigantic hand-carved wood beams that are about 10-12 inches wide and about 8 inches deep. It's like the floor is sitting on 10 full grown trees.

I'm not worried.

They already banned riding off-road bikes on your own property in parts of Cali. Could be coming to your town soon!
Our area is zoned rec only, no utilities and 5 acre minimum. It's also at 8500 ft. The pansies who need cableTV, microwaves, etc gotta come up with their own power. This keeps the lawyer riff raff out.

You can be arrested now for smoking in some cities in Cali. I'm glad I won't live to see the Brave New World of the future with everyone implanted with GPS locator chips and the govt telling you where to live, who to marry, etc. Oh yeah, they'll also be telling you when to die. We were very lucky, you and I, to live in a time when freedom still existed, as brief as that time in human history was. When I see the huge numbers of ignorant fools that infest our society with no understanding of history I know that it's coming to an end within the next 50 years max.

True enough. I think we actually lived during the best time this country will ever see.

I can't complain, coming from some of the worst inner city slums on earth, growing up in 3 different countries and being a 10th grade drop out to a decent house in the 'burbs and a legal 6 figure income is pretty good. I think the smartest thing I did was joining the Navy, I sweated blood for 4 years, ran coal, cleaned boilers and worked 18 years worth of nights and weekends to now where work 8 hour days, have most weekends off and sit back and cruise most of the time. Couple of bikes in the garage, a good running 5 year old Explorer and my dads 18 year old Range Rover in the driveway, two healthy kids and a good relationship with my ex-step kids, a girlf friend who thinks the sun shines out of my backside..... I really don't have anything to cry about.

Hold on. I thought you split from the g-friend?
I did, but it turns out I kinda' like her after all.....

We've split up and got back together a half a dozen times at least....It seems like difficult and impossible relationships are my forte` .

Slums? I thought you grew up in Montreal!
I was born in Liverpool, my family moved to Montreal when I was three. The house I was born in was over 200 year old, we lived there with my aunt and uncle, 2 cousins, plus my gramma and granpa, her widowed sister and my mom and dad. They only had electricity on the gound floor, no bath or shower and an outside toilet. a lot of the houses still had structural damaged from the germans and they wound up bulldozing the whole place in the 70's during one of their urban renewal phases. Moving to Canada was a dream come true for us

Only 200 years old? Modern conveniences if you ask me. I'm sitting in the portion of the house that used to be the Summer Kitchen. 266 years old.

My wife kind of grew up the same way. She lived in her grandparent’s house that housed her grandparents, mother, two aunts and an uncle. The house had no heating on the second floor and a dirt basement. But they did have indoor plumbing, so you got her beat on that one.

I think I got the hang of this thread.

I have read that fish oil is supposed to be good for me. I ate three tablets this morning along with my usual quart of strong coffee. The fish oil upset my stomach, and when I burp it tastes like rancid salmon and smells like low tide. This pisses me off, so it can't be good for my heart, which was the intent of the fish oil in the first place.

Naturally, I bought a "mega" size container of these abominations. Do you think the cat would like them?

Please advise.

Sincerely,
Omega Man

Eat some toast with them, or even a bagel then when you burped it would be like you had bagels and lox or salmon on toast for breakfast.........

Shalom...

Doc has got me on Potassium Citrate 1080mg X 2 - Twice Daily; these things are the size of those sulfa-boluses you give to calves suffering from milk-scours. They look like something Mr. Ed would frakkin' choke on.

I'll trade you.........

Not sure if the cat will eat them. But at this point I'm happy my cat is eating anything. She got lead poisoning from the renovations we are doing and it has been two weeks of vet visits, poison control, IV fluids, vomiting, and ugly Vet bills.

Whoo Potassium Citrate 1080s... Tempting...

Do they give you superpowers (any more than the usual, of course)?

I don't want to rush into a trade for my rancid fish oil tablets that I would eventually regret. Not to be coy, but there could be a better offer any second now. OK, I am being coy.

I am leaning towards your offer. I have my doubts about the soundness of my alternate plan of forcing 100+ tablets of fish oil down an enraged cat's throat.

As for bagels, well, I would rather have pie for breakfast.
