This sounds about useless. The current administration is not going to agree to anything this board comes up with. Not that it will even come up with anything usefull. What sells in America and europe is not what they need or want in india or south america (IMHO). Standards for vehicals are driven by local taste, road requirements of the country and local governments, not international bodies.

and if the AMA had not been there, whop would have represented American Motorcyslists? The FIM, you have got to be kidding! They turned over GP racing to Dorna (aka Bernie's Big Show) for crying out loud! When you don't attend UN meetings, things like Korea happen......just ask the Russians.....

The big question is who's driving this. Could be the real behind the scenes push is coming from the big automotive groups who're cheesed at trivial-but-costly variations in Emissions standards and suchlike.

In that case expect miraculous degrees of International harmony from the grateful recipients of Campaign largesse!

AMA gave members a heads up on this last year. There was some concern about globalized standards and their effects on aftermarket parts, etc.

I'm glad to see that NHTSA was involved, AMA's other initiative this year is an update of the Hurt study.
