Motorcycles are more dangerous to operate than cars, of that there can be no doubt.



What gets most new riders through the early days of riding is a healthy respect for the machine and their own mortality.



It seems that our returning troops may lack this respect-- and may have a reckless disregard for danger.



That can be a lethal combination.

For some it never wears off

Just had a friend at the gym wad (more on that in a minute).

He rides a CBR1000RR. He rides fast all the time.

A car pulled out in front of him a week ago and he hit it so hard it bent the forks back and broke the steering head. But that's not the worst part.

His "groin area" hit the gas tank so hard that he's got internal bleeding and there is some uncertaintly whether the parts contained within his "groin area" will function normally again.

Other than that, he's going to be ok.

Dang he goes to the gym and rides the safest motorcycle on the planet. It can happen to anyone folks.
