you might be thinking of "newenough.com" . They have some pretty good deals on closeout items. A friend of mine got a set of full tecnic racing leathers for a bit over 200, because they were kawasaki green, and apparently that color doesnt always sell well.

I would have to say newenough.com as well. I got and Icon alliance helmet on closeout for $59 bucks. I also have a cortech coaster I bought there for about 30 bucks less than I found anywhere else. They also detail the gear in a review and display pics of "normal" people wearing the gear, instead of just the factory picture of a supermodel who has most likely gotten the jacket fitted and not off the rack.

First of all: I do not work for Competiton Accesories!

I have owned and run a small independent motorcycle shop in RI since 1987. Often the prices at Comp Acc. are lower than my wholesalers prices and their service, selection and return policies are the best I have ever experienced. On a recent trip from my home state of RI to Indiana (Through Ohio) and I stopped into Comp Acc. The manager took me on a tour through the warehouse and order phone bank. All real nice and profesional. Nice group of people! Better than the e-bay crap shoot and the fly by nights else where.

I've used azmotorsports.com in the past. I think it's called Ridenow.com these days. They always have specials and discounts.

I try to use something outside the state of CA and then I can avoid sales tax which is like an 8% discount here.

I'm sure they are figuring a way to come after you for that sales tax.

They got me when I moved out of Ca in 1982. After I moved I calculated the income taxes I owed Ca for 1982 and it came to $6. Five Years later I get a letter from the Ca Attorney General's Office ordering me to pay up or they'd come after me. With penalties it came to $12. What do you think it cost them to figure out what I owed them and find me? Over a G I'll bet.

It's only a matter of time before they figure out how to collect those out of state sales taxes. They think it'll save Ca from bankruptcy. Heh heh.

Ahnold only ran as a Pubbie because he saw that as his best chance to win. Like most pols he'll blow whichever way he thinks is to his immediate personal advantage. He could care less what the future brings. Fortunately he can't run for President.

Aren't Ca's Bonds already just one step above junk bond status?

I will 2nd (or is it 4th?) New Enough as a great site to get things on the cheap. The first question most people ask me is if they actually sell used stuff... the answer is no they don't sell used stuff anymore. I think they used to but now they don't BUT the name stuck.

Another option is to figure out what you want and then 'Froogle' it. Froogle is a part of Google that list items by price. Just do your search and then 'sort by price'. That's how I do 90% of my internet shopping for everything, not just motorcycle stuff.

Finally make sure you find a place to try things on first. Things on ultra discount are often not returnable.

+1 New Enough

I've bought from new enough several times, but now days there has to be a really good sale on for me to do so. The prices are good, sometimes great, the service is first rate and the mini-evaluations and recommendations are unique to motorcycle web shopping. Unfortunately I live in Texas, and the sales tax is usually enough to make someplace else a better deal. If you are outside TX, or they are having one of their really good deals on closeout stuff, go there.

If the weather was crappy, no one would live here. However, it was 80 yesterday and I had the Geezer Glide out with a lovely passenger on the back so it looks like I'll keep taking the beating from the state.

I have New Enough, Bike Bandit, Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse and Motogear Outlet bookmarked and do price comparisons between the 4 before buying.

All have done me well, selection at mawonline is very good but you have to know what you're looking for.

Also, sometimes I've taken the pricing to the friendly local dealer and they've discounted items just to get the business.

I second that if you're ordering online -- though some gear's best bought in person for proper fit. Purchased two high priced items from newenough.com at rock-bottom rates. I still shop my local shops though for things you either need to see in person or be make sure the fit is good.

Don't forget the doo rag.

We stopped by the popular water hole on the beach (The Kraken) and if you just spent 60 grand on that chrome chopper you're old news bro.

The flat black bobber is the thing now. The parking lot was full of bare metal and flat black bikes. Leave it to the Rubs to pay 60 grand for something that looks like they found it in an alley.
