Let's figure this out mathematically. PT Barnum said that there was a sucker born every minute. Back then the Earth's population was maybe a billion. Today the population is about 6 billion. So we have a sucker born every 10 seconds. Figure the average lifespan worldwide to be about 50 years. We then adjust for the mean population 25 years ago of 4.5 billion. We have a population group of approximately 105,120,000 suckers. Figure that 25% of the world's population can access the internet. That leaves us at a very rough guess (since I don't want to bother with calculus) 26,280,000 suckers able to bid on Ebay.
No wonder Buzglyd is getting rich with such a large population of suckers being born every 10 seconds. He couldn't possibly ripoff as many elderly people as are being created every minute. Do you need any more associates, Buz? I'd like to join the Evil Capitalist Oppressors' Club.
In China with a population of 1 billion, even if you're a one-in-a-million kind of guy, there's still a thousand just like you.
We just don't let anyone into the ECOC. There's a ruthlessness test that needs to be passed.
Q: You're about to scam a little old lady out of her life savings. You find out right when you're about to close the deal that she has some additional assets you didn't discover in the interview. Do you:
a) Close the deal anyway and allow her a little something to live off of?
b) Restructure the deal to completely clean her out so she can't even afford to eat catfood?
c) Find out if she has a hot granddaughter and nail her?
