The problem here is that Ben is a well known public figure, a stupid one at that, but famous nonetheless, so the repercussions will be felt far and wide, and as usual the rest of us pay the price, legislation wise, insurance wise, or just in the way we are looked at in general.
And to be honest, it is not the kind of bike he was riding that is the problem, it is the whole arrogant attitude about it, no license, no helmet, no experience, no training.
I ride with friends that have the latest and the fastest, and everybody has been trained, has track days under their belts and know when to let it hang and when to chill, it is called maturity and experience, of course we all had to start somewhere, but the ATTITUDE has to be there. And protective gear is a must. A cheap Wal-Mart full face helmet would have done wonders for his ugly mug.
