This recent article, written in the spring of 2023 using statistics going back to 2020, has a lot of information about motorcycle crashes, fatalities, survival rates, helmet laws & the use of Helmets in preventing deaths etc.

One thing I did not find in here, but I was hoping to see, was a breakdown on the cops' allocation of responsibility for fatal or serious injury crashes.

----- My guess is.....
I'll bet that the CAGERS are at fault 80% of the time,

and 10% of the time the motorcyclist made a mistake (just being inattentive for a couple of seconds)

and the other 10% they was riding super aggressively and just asking to get killed.

It seems every week I hear in the news about another motorcyclist / moped or scooter rider getting killed here in Atlanta. And so far every one that I've heard of, going back about a year now that I've been really paying attention to these incidents, the cager was at fault.

Of course Atlanta is a big metropolitan area with some thing like 8 million people living with in the area for which news coverage is broadcast on the main stream news...
now that I've been really paying attention to these incidents, the cager was at fault.
Sometimes the reported details are misleading.
If, for instance, the bike was going 100 MPH in a 40 zone.........and a car pulled into it's path.........

I've spent a good bit of time in Atlanta and seen a lot of stupid bike riders.
But to be fair, a lot of dumb car driving too.
