I was just curious how much everyone's bike insurance is?

Cheap. But I'm old, married and live in the country.
Liability insurance for my old CL350 was $61.00 a year.

Full coverage for my XB9SX was a whopping $985,00 per year,

But now since I'm on double secret probation with the DMV, for cancellling the insurance on my totaled Buell, my license hase been revoked for two years. This is the same DMV that gave me a license plate for a YZ490, so I'n not that po'd.

Maybe you can go back to the DMV and claim you are an illegal alien. They should have no problem giving you a license at that point.
There are variables in insurance. Those that figure the variables are called actuaries. Actuaries are the guys the f-up our rates. They use age, zip code, bike model, and violations to figures rates. Some now use credit scoring- like the auto insurance side of life. So- your question is stated in a manner that you cannot get an accurate answer from the peanut gallery. I have been doing bike insurance in the southeast for 8 years and ususally can get within $50 or so of where a a good quote should be, but variables are everything. You have to disclose all violations, if you're a homeowner (companies give discounts for it), if you've taken safety classes or belong to any motorcycle association and many other things that when added up can save you money on annual premium. Contact me personally and I will assist you even if you don't live in the southeast.

Insurance on just about any motorcycle I would buy runs about $350 a year depending on the motor size. I fact, insurance on my 2005 Busa was less than my 2001 Geezer Glide Classic. State Farm rates are based on cc's and not type of bike, so the Geezers 1450 is more expensive to insure than the Busa's 1300.

You're lucky on that. State Farm has already started to change those methods for "new" customers. I won a bid on a Gixxer 1000 guy the other day when S F came back with a quote of $1400 for the guy. I beat it by almost $300 annual. Not great, but considering what he had to deal with it didn't suck either.
Florida doesn't require insurance of any type on motorcycles. Go figure...
I just got full coverage from AAA with $100 deductibles.
It's $365 per year.

I've had my license for two years.
I always buy bikes outright that are several years old so I don't bother with full coverage since I never pay more than $2500 for a bike. My liability is through Markel and is 50/100 on each bike with all the uninsured/underinsured bells and whistles and runs about $120 each per year.

I have State Farm as well - Liability (50/100 I think) on a Hawk GT for a 36yo "Married" homeowner with a car and two trucks is ~$12/month (I could save $5/year if I paid every 6 mos - that is, $5 on the total bill) and Full-Coverage is $26/month for an '04 FZ6. No accidents, no tickets in the last 5 years. These are all with towing riders, and $300 deduct.

The only thing I DON'T like about State Farm's coverage, is they only will write you for $1000 Medical. Better have a good Medical Policy through work........
A few weeks ago I did a quote for KM that was $1315 annual for a Conni14- he lives in South FL for those that need location. The same type of quote for GA (not Atlanta) would be $350 annual. In SC the quote was $480 and in Alabama it was sub $300. Location is everything in this business. State Farm banks on "other" lines of business and loses it shirt on motorcycle and boat coverage. All things change, and so will State Farm. They've begun the process with "new" customers and in about 5 years or so exsisting customers will see the change. Buying liability coverage only keeps the State happy. It does NOTHING for you. Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is your CYA in the event that a Dumba$$ that hits you has not got appropriate coverage in the first place. So- the biggest vaiables here are Comprehensive coverage (theft & fire) and Collision coverage. Well, what do you want to pay for? If you get collision coverage and you decide it's a fine day to ride your bike into a bus full of nuns, you can get the bike fixed. Does it cover your injuries- NO!!!!! If anyone tells you otherwise they're lying and you're a dunba$$ for listening. If the bike disappears, is vandalised, spontaniously combust or you hit a dog the comprehensive coverage SHOULD cover the cost of the bike repair or theft at Actual Cash Value (unless otherwise stated in your policy). So- back to my original statement, you can't justify pricing unless you know the veriables and we have none from our friend that started this thread.
I'm old (compared to a 25yo). I WILL get a better rate no matter what I ride vs the 25yo. However, If I chose a 1098 as my ride will I get a better rate than the 25yo if he chose a VLX? Probably- not?. It's a loaded question and there is NO direct answer without knowledge of more facts.

Which, by the way, is a big part of the reason why I'm still on the old Con-ster. It's hard to rationalize paying nearly as much a month for insurance as the damn vehicle costs. My car insurance is $250/month already, but I don't have much choice on that. BTW: I have two tickets in 3 years...I'm hardly a wild man these days.

Ah, didn't say you were a wild man. It's location that screws you. You see the rates for other areas. You could most certainly afford to get the Connie if you lived elsewhere. Just another variable.

Oh sure, I understood that. You told me that when we talked on the phone. I think you used slightly more colorful language. Something about how insurance companies force a certain sex act on unwilling South Floridians. It's my fault for living in this hellhole. I can't wait to move back to Cocoa Beach...
I have S.F. on both mine plus the cars, house and hospitalization. The more you can combine into one company the cheaper it is. That said I still pay $5 or 600 a year each. The only advantage is my agents a total hotty

Hotties help ease check writing pains.

This is for a $5000 sport bike, in Santa Monica, CA for a 26 year old. I have a ticket on my record also. I don't understand why so many people have such high quotes?
Mine on my Aprilia Futura is around $700 per year for comprehensive and liability. If I were to add collision, it would go up to a whopping $2,200 per year!! I'm 30 years old and I have a perfect driving record. However, I am unmarried and have no kids. I guess they figure I'm going to dump the bike. Craziness.
