Thanks again. I bought the '05 ST3 and have had all work done on the bike there at the dealer. I like the people there... i just don't want to get screwed over. I like your suggestion of High on the '05 and Cost on the '07. I should be speaking with them tomorrow, so you may be hearing frrom me again.

With the mistake on them, all "value" of your bike goes out the window. Don't get your insurance involved or settle on anything that really ends up costing you money. I'm not sure which dealer you are working with so it's hard to say how things could be handled other than with ducati.(maybe they have a tuono you'd like to ride, dunno)

Bottom line is, you could make money out of a lawsuit, you just want a bike. Again talk to the owner and ask how this is going to be solved, I think you'll be "made whole."

You have to keep me posted.

-Good luck.

Re: Mayors Choose Seattle as America's Most Liveable City

So you live in Sandy Eggo now?

I just want to know, so I can put pushpins into my map of "Places Not to Visit".

For me there is no bike out there I would trade my Aprilia Futura for. In my opinion this bike has the best combination of comfort, speed and handling of any bike ever made. I was very close to buying a new ST3, when I found my low miles 02 Futura. No regrets!!

If you are unhappy with the offer made by the shop owner, I would contact Ducati directly and explain your situation and why you are not satisfied with the offer. It might help to point out to the dealer that you buy your tires from HIM! Probably lots of other stuff too, huh? Locals like you who buy his bikes and bring them back for service are the meat of his business. This would be a good time for him not to cheap out.

Re: Mayors Choose Seattle as America's Most Liveable City

As soon as he's stumped for an answer, he starts that nonsense. It's all about diversion from the truth, something he has a hard time speaking, or hearing. All I know is his beloved Boeing chose Chicago, and although they voted his shythole the 'most livable city', they actually had the Mayors Conference here in shytty old Chicago. wonder why they didn't have it there? If he represents what is best about Seattle, I know I'd rather live here. It's a real city with real people. Seattle: a non-descript city known for nothing except teen suicides. I can see why.

I'd just keep the '05 and look for something interesting to beat up around town. My first thought would be a BMW GS800. It'll be slower than the ST3 but it'll do everything plus you can just beat the snot out of it. And it's easy to work on, looks cool, isn't on every street corner, etc. Damn, I'm gonna check out Trader Online right now and see if I can find one for me. Maybe I'll pick me up an old Guzzi 500 or 650. Yeah, to hell with new; keep the nearly new and add vintage.

I live in SD not KMitty. Since I am one of the grand poobas of the GPTB, you are actually required to visit and bring gifts.

I hope non of you are planning to have guacamole at your Superbowl Parties cuz it's so freakin' cold right now the Avos are freezing.

Oops, didn't see the distructo comments about the dead '05. By all means get the '07 if you liked the '05 so much. I'd really take a look at the Uly too. Finally got to ride one. What a great seat! Although I'm 6'1" I have a short inseam. The '06 I rode was a high seat model and took a bit for me to paddle it around the lot. The suspension sag was ok at a stop light but I'd like the '07's lower seat.

We are having record cold this year with 100 year old records being broken. Somehow this will all be blamed on human caused global warming.
