Biker Visiblity

Hello! I am doing a design project looking at design opportunities involving lighting for motorcycles and the user. More than 40 percent of all motorcycle crashes are caused by another drivers complacency or failing to see bikers on the road. I'm interested in seeing how we might change this.

TLDR: Any thoughts on what it's like on a daily basis as a biker, things one might like to see improved, things that may have been introduced to solve this problem that need improvement, etc. Suggestions can be future-focused as far as 5-6 years in the future or settled in the present with current technology.

Some ideas I've considered looking into are an integrated HUD in helmets, a leather jacket with lined LEDs or ELs (to keep the cool without compromising safety), adding a light trial (futuristic) behind the bike on the rear fender, and tackling the turn signals which many drivers complain are too small and not at eye level; may combine this one into a jacket as well, which has been done, but will do it through a refinement approach.

Your first post looks a LOT like a lead-in to some SPAM advertising.
Be careful.

Understood. Rest assured, there will be no advertising here.
My thoughts are that I agree visibility is important!

I wear a bright red safety vest with silver 3M reflective stripes across it, and I have red reflective tape across my gray three-quarter helmet. When I wear a small backpack to carry my things when I ride that backpack is bright red also.

Finally, some prior owner of my motorcycle took all the factory lights off the back end and replaced them with tiny little LED things. Too small. So I recently completed a project where I mounted a 15 inch wide light bar to serve as my main running light and brake light. (I left in place the little pencil-sized LED strip the prior owner had put on,
but I augmented it with this new light).
I also relocated the turn signals to be about 20 inches apart from each other, whereas the prior owner had them sitting right next to each other on the back fender.
I went with "safety" over having an image of being "cool."

Kind of an odd request.
You need to be more specific about what KIND of parts you need.
Most any HD dealer probably could help.
