Oh, by the way.

The unabomber was a leftwing envirowacko. He had a copy of "Earth in the Balance" on his bookshelf.

Only someone as stupid as you would use him as an analogy.

And did you see how Kerry would respect the 1st amendment if elected, with his recent attack on the Swift Boat Vet's & POWs for truth in the airing of "Stolen Honor" on TV?

Be afraid, be very afraid. Personally, I'm stocking up on 7.92 x 57. (For the mighty FN49 with the BAR clip mod).

Amen SRMark!

Even out here in the sticks the best way to get your butt in a wringer is to simply exercise your right , wait - we're talking University here after all, your responsibility to speak your mind. I and every one else around here who doesn't toe the party line are in nearly constant hot water. I, personally, am neither liberal or conservative and, in fact, despise all politicians, their keepers, and most of the mainstream media with roughly equal intensity. This is definitely at odds with the warm and fuzzy thoughts we are all supposed to have about authority.

Most U's as they are currently configured are really not about diversity at all. True diversity includes diversity of thought, not just sex and ethnicity. You are supposed to encounter people at an institution of higher learning who have ideas that differ from yours and public discourse is the way that you are supposed to sort 'em out. If things are really working right they are at least as smart as you are too. Precious little of that these days, unless you count idiots yelling at each other on TV and websites.

What/where did you teach, if you don't mind me asking?

cheers

Re: Why Kerry isn't going to win. The Great Motorcycle bozo speaks

What really scares me is the army of lawyers that have been mobilized to file lawsuits in order to have the election contested should it be close in key states. In fact, they're already filing suits now.

And the worst part is that we will now have an international body monitoring our Presidential election. These bodies are normally employed to monitor elections in third-world emerging democracies. Have some of us completely lost our frakin' minds?

If people can't grasp the implications of having an "international" organization influencing our elections, I fear we're completely sunk.

Courtesy of Jimmy "Kim Jong-Il is not so bad" Carter. Now if Kim jong-Il is "not so bad" then who on Earth pray tell is bad?

We are the nation that ushered in the truly revolutionary idea of a democratic republic for the first time in thousands of years and made it work. The american Revolution was a real change that resulted in the death of monarchy. To think of the phony democracies that comprise most of the world monitoring our elections is too ironic.

But it shows just how far they will go to win. Seeing that Kerry is falling badly in the polls they're attempting to simply steal the election.

Well, it worked for the first JFK. Why not this one?

And Nixon, being the man he was, didn't contest the stolen election, for fear of up-ending our democratic process. Stock up on ammo!

I certainly don't mind you asking but, since the organization where I now work has entered in to cooperative agreements with that university, I hope you can appreciate my CYA attitude. So, that good school will remain a mystery. I taught Strategic Planning in an MBA program.

It's good to hear from another person in the center. What an uncomfortable place to sit with all of this mudslinging going on. I agree that there is not much of a free discussion of issues back and forth. For that to occur, there needs to be as much listening as there is commenting. Those "yelling" shows contain only diametrically opposed forces that are not concern with a mutual exchange of anything more that insults and finger pointing. So much for progress.

BTW, Kpaul's response to me has a few good points. He just gets a bit wound up and that can drive the polarity machine even harder.

Hell boy, I thought you was a-way over yonder on the left. Good to see you more centered. Thanks for taking the time to share your option with me. And I do agree with a good deal of what you just said. Not that that should matter to you or that it makes either of us valid. I do think we (the collective we) need to pull more together than we do at times.

The people over here who do Strategic Planning and Risk Assesment are some of my favorites. I have noticed that they tend to be non-ideologic, focused on what is pragmatically important and have the ability to ignore all of the cack and background noise. Real problem solvers if anyone listens. Very refreshing.

Continued success to you, sir!

Re: Why Kerry is going to win. The Great Motorcycle Prophet speaks

I didn't know that I was comparing merits of any parties, nor do I consider myself a "lefty" what ever that is.

I also hope that you did't think I was calling you a "loonie" because you thought I was accusing you of being a "non-lefty". Clearly you could be called "caring and comopassionate" in certian circles.

I just had my panties in a bind because I came home from work yesterday to see history in baseball and I couldn't even watch it because every commercial that came on was telling me how many mothers Goerge Bush had raped, and how many babys John Kerry had brutalized in threre lives. That got me going becuase at work a 5th grader asked me why we can only vote for two people that do all these mean and bad things. I didn't know how to answer that one.

SORRY BAD DAY. at least the yankees lost!

I do find it funny that you complain about a tactic by using that tactic. oxi-MO-ron

" And I've been to quite a few rallies and such over the years thank you very much. I went to two at the Utah State Capitol this year. One lefty rally and one parent's rights rally. You see, the lefties have taken control of these State Agencies that now destroy families and put thousands of children on dangerous psychiatric drugs. Your children can be taken from you without even a hearing or a warrant on the basis of an anonymous complaint - a pure creation of the social engineers, much beloved by the lefties. And every single child so taken is sent to a shrink where they are labelled mentally ill and placed on drugs. 100%! So, you can engage in your BS."

I work with kids and also see what you are saying.

How does that make it O.K. for me to engage in B.S. What B.S. did I engage in?

It is truly unfortunate that Crossfire is what passes for political debate in this country these days. I am finding the rhetoric from both sides almost unbearbale at this point. I will be glad when this election is over.

Nothing like having some judge from Nigera passing sentence on our electoral process.

Lyndon LaRouch will be spinning in his bunk at the Federal Corrections Center in Atlanta at around 10,000 rpm pretty soon. Maybe he was right about the Queen after all.

Hopefully the UN will allow 2 strokes on US streets and highways again...(maybe that's what we can do with all the metal from melted down guns, after the UN gun ban). Of course they'll all resemble pre WWII Jawas, but WTF.

Did you catch Jon Stewart tuning up both Crossfire hosts last week? One of the most refreshing and candid interviews I've seen in forever. I've never seen his TV show but I'd heard him on Fresh Aire a few weeks ago and I really like the guy. Calling a spade a spade is an increasingly rare thing in the media these days.

"Which part of the Democrats' campaign are you involved in?...Shooting firearms at those offices?...Are you the guy who took a Bush/Cheney sign from the 6 year old girl and tore it up?"
Not to undermine your rant, but you might want to google on Phil Parlock. He's the one that reported the torn sign held by the small child on his shoulders -- three different torn signs at three different demonstrations. He was also there when the bullet struck the campaign office. Of course he could be a serial victim, but seems kinda suspicious doesn't it?

Hat's off to him though -- the torn sign was a masterful bit of theater. Has nothing to do with the war on terror, civil liberties, taxes, missing WMD, or anything else of concern, but good theater.

Re: Didn't anyone notice?

could be cause the bike only has to move a foot or 1.5 off-line to maneuver around cones while the cars have to move much farther cause they are WIDEr. Ya think? Good thing car mag guys aren't so bright.
