Well the GPTB had is chance for frontier justice with a Sturgis Boycott. But that didn't happen.. Better to party then support a brother I guess. SD folks voted for Janklow, the judge in his case, and the prosecutor. SD voters and politicians should be the folks that the brotherhood should be angry with. Folks said that a Boycott would hurt the innocent. Well if you elected this smuck you aren't innocent.

Don't follow you.. How would have you handled the situation? The problem wasn't with the legal system or government but the corrupt players in this case.. I am interested in your solution.. It's always easy to criticize concepts like the government or legal system but without giving alternative it's useless. How would you do things?

"Actually, the problem WAS With the Legal System - at the time (and maybe STILL so), SD Law only allowed for a maximum of a 1-year penalty in the case. Considering that, Janklow got quite a harsh penalty (6-months jail + 3-years probation, + Disbarment & loss of Driving Privileges the whole time)."

That is because he wasn't charged correctly if I remember right. He should have been charged with Manslaughter or Negligent homicide.. Again a corrupt prosecutor

bottom line in any other state like WA or CA he gets the book thrown at him.. So it's not the legal system it's the corrupt SD politicians, officials and folks that elect them..

I guess what I am saying is the legal system has the mechanism to deal with this type of crime. In any other state this guy would have been locked up in the State Penn for a much longer term.. The people of SD are to blame for electing him over and over when he did stuff like this in the past.. Ultimately it is every citizens responsibility to oversee the government. Also how would you have dealt with this situation?

Sure but the likelihood of something like this happening on the left coast is very low..

I like it... I thought the Somalia reference was a good touch.. You want anarchy or libertarian stuff. Go look at the conditions in this country 1890s etc.. Before things like the FDA, SEC, FTC... oh yeah those were the good old days ;)

GPTB definition

GPTB is acronym that I invented. It means Gray Pony Tailed Brotherhood. They are middle aged American male bikers born between 1945-1963 who ride cruisers. They prefer to ride a Harley if they can afford it. They hate helmet laws and when forced to wear a helmet they will wear the worthless skull cap versions. They get most of their news from Fox News. Bill O'Rielly, W, and Cheney are their heroes. Although now they won't admit it, they voted for W and still support the Iraq war. They are stay the course people. i.e. No new models for Harley and no new engines for Buell. They begrudge ling accept folks that ride V-Rods.
