Flash to the future. The year is 2067, Buell has finally achieved a 9th place finish in Formula X-treme due to rule change that allows jet engines in American built chassis.

I'd love to see Buell (or any American Manufacturer) do well, but they need to race a somewhat comparable motor. A 200cc advantage would be one thing....

You mean like Buells have competed like two or three times and they like haven't won yet? May as well give up now.

Good race bikes generally make poor streetbikes, and vice-versa. Race results have no bearing on my purchase decision.

I want an XB12R.

wow thanks for posting that Longsnide, i was afraid to investigate what happened to them for fear it was mechanical again. 7th place from back of pack—at a track known for its loooooong straights—is better than anybody expected i bet. this could get good.

go Erik. go Steve Anderson.

A 200cc advantage would be one thing . . .
. . . would be one thing if they were using a water-cooled DOHC motor, but since they're using an air-cooled pushrod motor that's inherently less efficient they get to have a larger advantage.

Less efficient engine layouts get displacement advantages in all sorts of motorsports racing, why does everyone act like it's cheating when Harley/Buell does the same thing? Why doesn't anyone cry foul when four-strokes are allowed you use twice the displacement as two-strokes when it is obvious the four-stroke is an overdog at twice the displacement?

Re: AMEN!

On paper maybe. I've yet to get beaten by some kid on a 600 during stoplight drag racing on my boat anchor GSXG. Practice, practice practice.

Are we saying we're happy that many of the Buells are actually running long enough to finish a race?

Here are the results I found on the formula xtreem site: No Buells in the top ten? 14th was the best finish listed. Perhaps that's not bad in this company?

1 32 Eric Bostrom Las Vegas, NV Yamaha YZF-R6

2 4 Joshua Hayes Gulfport, MS Honda CBR600RR

3 40 Jason Disalvo Stafford, NY Yamaha YZF-R6

4 34 Michael F Barnes Boca Raton, FL Suzuki GSX-R600

5 481 Ryan L Andrews Robinson, TX Honda CBR600RR

6 135 Ty Howard Weatherford, TX Honda CBR600RR

7 56 Tony Meiring Tracy, CA Suzuki GSX-R600

8 96 Aaron Gobert Murrieta, CA Honda CBR600RR

9 312 Alastair Seeley , Yamaha YZF-R6

10 91 Jeffrey S Tigert San Leandro, CA Honda CBR600RR

Re: Florida red sox, right?

"'OK, you got me. That was a good one too. My mouth was open. My mouth was open on that one.'"

-----------------------------------

Damnit! You fished me in. I couldn't remember if you were in the US or not.

...and not everyone knows how big the Massholes are that are diehard Sox fans. Those idiots want everyone fired, every year...no matter what the team's record is.

Extra point if you know where the above quote comes from.

Re: Florida red sox, right?

I can hear him saying that now that I know.

OK, back to bikes, what oil should I use in my harley if I have no helmet on riding in a red state to go vote?

Thanks in advance,

Fenton
