I agree, specially hands free units. What's the difference between that an talking to someone in your car. The problem I see the most is people holding their phone to their ear, means they don't signal, don't look around before changing lanes and half of them are doing something else like putting on make up or lighting a butt with their free hand.

If half of the idiots I see would just learn to drive, that would be the best help.

Most people just can't drive their cars.

my 2 cents.

Perhaps they're right about 'conscious' multitasking, but frankly I have been able to talk on the phone and drive just fine.

The funny thing is that driving becomes somewhat instinctive or reflex when I'm on the phone. I'll take a call coming out of the parking lot at work and suddenly I'm in my driveway with no particular recollection of the drive home.

I also drive very fast and practice adjunct "vehicle control" frequently wherever there's a fun spot to do it. So I'm well prepared to deal with an emergency requiring any evasive maneuvers. I've found that driving your vehicle to it's limits once in a while (a.k.a. reckless, according to police) makes you much more comfortable and prepared to drive like that when you are forced to by others. Rather than simply stand on the brakes and be paralysed by fear, you reflexively do what you need to do to avoid the accident.

I think I've seen the same guy! I saw a guy on a metric cruiser wearing a half-helmet with a phone jammed between his ear and the straps on the side of the lid and he was talking.

He looked like such an enormous dork I practically wanted to slap him in the face with one of my armchaps and challenge him to a duel.

Re: EBass' informal study

Right before you throw the ball-bearing you think better of it and give her that sly Ebass grin and shortly thereafter you've bedded down another single mom.

You walk away the next morning swearing that is the last one.

...and then she calls to tell me the raincoat didn't work

Nah, I swear man, no more MILFs. Believe me, I get plenty of opportunities on a daily basis, but ever since my vow of cuckoo bird chastity over a year ago, I've been a changed man. Frankly I'd sooner stick Mr. Johnson in an electric socket than deal with some sh*twad showing up at my door every Tuesday, Thursday, and every other weekend to pick up/drop off his bratty spawn. Sorry, but not even porn-star-end-of-the-world-chandelier-swinging-monkee-sex is worth THAT kind of agita.

Been commuting on bikes for 3 solid months now without missing a day. Not sure how much I'll like it when it's about 10 below zero though! Come to think of it, I DO know how much I'll like that. Not Very.

I've made it almost every day too, except March which was a f***n' monsoon all month. We didn't get much snow this year and it didn't even get that cold so it was cake and pie..

I got 33k miles on the Trophy in exactly 2 years, I'm re-fi'ing my house now, I expect to be picking up a Bonnie in a month or two with any luck.
