Every time an innocent bystander is killed or injured in a police chase the police involved should recieve the same punishment as the pursuee. Unless the police have some excuse, like due to prior knowledge the pursuit was to stop some wacko with a trunk load of dynamite on the way to a grade school, there is no justifiable reason to let these bozos endanger the public that they are supposed to be protecting. If you and I can be ticketed for "endangering the public" for riding our motorcycles 10 or 20 mph over the posted limit on deserted country roads why should these jokers think it's alright to chase some drunk at speeds of over 100mph on city streets? Police are just average mortals, they possess no super human skills nor do the people they persue. VWW
