Oh, he was being irresponsible all right, but for those of us who *aren't* fixated on defending the rights of all mankind, one naked head at a time, that was obvious enough that it didn't need to be stated.
It is a bad thing because it shows that the POH-leese don't have the fastest vehicles and that not everybody is a sheep-like follower.
But $20,000 for bail - c'mon. All he did was cause the cops to burn up some gas. Maybe he was trying to get to an emergency child welfare situation. Give him a medal.
or a good dual sport. How could the cops clock him at 142 (not 140 not 145 but 142.) Sounds fishy to me. At 142 he would have been out of sight pretty quickly.
Lucky for the cops they have such things as radios and helicopters.
Laser is easily accurate to 1 mph (really much higher) as is radar and the timing strips/VASCAR (which can be done from that pesky helo, a stationary or moving cruiser.)
Loathe as I am to be associated with someone who calls himself BIGDX and thinks witty reparte consists of talking about bagging your wife,he does sometimes make good points. And his point here is cogent....the same folk who attack anti helmet law folk as being irresponsible also seem to be the ones who think high speeds on public roads is OK. this is sloppy thinking....riding without a helmet endangers yourself.....riding 142 on a public road endangers others as well. Which is the most irresponsible behaviour.?
