You're spot on about the high pricing. I'm just whining that these bikes aren't more popular. More demand would mean more offerings from the big4, more competition, etc. Certainly they [email protected] on the street.
The excellent steering leverage, straight up seating and top notch brakes make these the safest bikes you could buy for the street. Far better than those fully faired death traps.
Ah ol' Socko is a much more subtle ploy. Not as blatant as the Highwayman or MR. ALLCAPS, he still is following in the same tradition of carefully crafted piles of horse***** designed only to stir the pot.
Simply the looks department. Ducati gets a lot of grief for the 999 and rightfully so. But the vast majority of what they turn out is about as much fun to look at as it is to ride. KTM certainly has the "go" part down but their designers must have had their eyes snatched out at birth.
