Re: Corbin Motors is Bankrupt:

You mean you aren't surprised that the Eco-Wackos didn't start ponying up the dough for this machine? They sure talk a big game at awards events and on talk shows.

Why didn't the tree-huggers buy this? This supposedly is the car of their dreams.

Don't forget the billions wasted on "light rail." In San Diego we now have a subsidized boat that goes from Oceanside to San Diego and back. I think it holds maybe 150 people (which really cleans up those freeways!) and if the swells are up, only takes an hour and a half to go 30 miles.

The politicians love it of course.

Re: Necessity is the mother of invention

I was going to reply to your lunatic ranting about SUVs and corruption with facts like how CAFE works, demand, you know, evil corporate business stuff? But then I figured why spoil all the fun?

Some tips when spouting leftist conspiracy theories:

1) Bug your eyes out real good. It shows you mean it.

2) A soul patch never hurts.

3) When driving your 68 VW bus with the "MEAT IS MURDER" and the "ANIMALS AND PLANTS ARE DYING TO MAKE WAY FOR YOUR FAT AZZ" bumper stickers, try to forget that your spewing forth more hydrocarbons than 1000 modern SUVs which of course currently meet the same standards as autos these days.

I totally understand two different CAFE standards. I was referring to the hydrocarbon "loophole" which has been closed voluntarily by the manufacturers looking for good PR.

I don't believe the government should be "encouraging" anything in a free society. Look at the Euro cities covered in diesel soot to see the effects of raising the gas tax.

Well there goes the stereotype about the British sense of humour! (note British spelling to make you feel more comfortable)

You claim you can see through American corporate bullshyt however it is apparent you cannot see through American college campus bullshyt.

And as far as doing nothing goes: I employ 25 people with good salaries, health benefits and 401 (k), I donate money to charity and haven't missed voting in an election since I turned 18.

You may be the new "bitter little man."

Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the advice fratboy. Living in California as I do, it's easy to see how those evil Republicans have screwed up this place.

As PJ O'rourke once said, "When Republicans ruin the environment, plunder the treasury and screw the taxpayer, at least someone makes a buck off of it. Democrats do it just for fun."
