I have broken my back,in 2002,I think Im ready to ride again, I have a bad lower back pain,I heard that I can buy a lumbar support seat that I can take off and on when needed to, Im now looking at the Honda Shadow Areo 750 has anybody seen or heard of this support?
Im affaid that the sales man will say anything for a sale,you know the deal!

Not sure, but you might want to think about a bike that puts your feet under you (like a standard or a Sportster) as oppose to out in front. Not saying this will solve everything, but bad backs are an odd thing. I would sit on as many bikes as possible, you might be surprised which bike is more comfortable.

A custom seat maker may be able to help you with some kind of back rest. I wouldn't think a cruiser would be your best choice. Try a few different bikes if you can.

Yes - a cruiser puts all of your weight right into your spine, and tends to curve your back out instead of in a proper posture. If you get a standard bike (with or without a fairing) you can get your feet under you for support, and it will be easy to hold your back in a proper posture.

Keep in mind that sitting on a bike in a showroom is NOT a good way of figuring out how a bike may suit you. Motorcycles move! When you are moving, the wind pushes against you, vibration and road shocks hit you, you have to work all the controls. It's a very different fit from sitting on a cushy seat in a showroom.

As for seat backs, yes, some manufacturers offer seat backs. I know women who have them on BMWs and on a Yamaha 1100 cruiser. If you do get a cruiser, which I do NOT recommend for you because of your back, you should definitely get one only if you are CERTAIN you can get a seat back on that bike.

Jeez, which vertebrae? You're a lucky son-of-a-gun you're not in a chair like me. You might want to look at something that has you sitting stright-up, like a sooper motard, or dual sport even. Big cushy seats and pegs where pegs should be. Good luck, glad you can still ride.

+1 on the cruiser being a bad idea.

Check out the standards, like the Suzuki Bandit, the Yamaha FZ1, Triumph Bonneville (I know, there isn't much in common with the first two), and DPs like the Triumph Tiger, Suzuki Wee- or V-Strom. Also look at the small STs, like the Triumph Sprint, the Honda VFR, Suzuki SV650 (which is sorta a naked, but...).

You'll want a seating position that has your lower back curving toward the tank, rather than one that has you slouching. Even if you could stand riding in the slouching position, the first big bump would really hurt!

Most custom seat makers have some sort of backrest option, and they can work on any seat pan, or provide their own. Listen to my fellow MOrons though, avoid the feet forward riding position for a bad back.
