Have you had the recall performed on the countershaft sprocket?
See your Dealer to find out if you fall within the range of affected bikes.
How loose is your chain?
Put the bike up on the centerstand, put it in first, and let it idle in gear - any "kinks" in the chain?
I don't need to add; keep anything away from the moving parts you wish to keep un-damaged/affixed to your body, do I?
In nearly 50k miles, I haven't had any "clicking" problems from the drive on my '04 FZ6 but a worn/binding chain. Replacement is the only sure option - ~$90 or so. (118-link, #530 chain, stick with O-Ring type)
