:confused: Riding home the other day and i noticed a repetitive clicking on my gear pedal, its slowly getting worse. The sound and feel is like push bike bearing going but deeper.
Any ideas before i get chucked off ???

Repetitive clicking through the gear pedal if most likely Limes Disease. Check for tics under the gastank, and that place between the swingarm and the engine case. Also, has your 600 been wormed?

A sound like that coming from that part of the bike isn't something I'd fck around with. I ignored a similar noise and wound up locking the rear wheel at 60mph in traffic on US 1. The tranny seized, my heart seized, and my sphincter seized the leather right off the seat. Get it looked at, you may save yourself a lot of money and pain.

Have you had the recall performed on the countershaft sprocket?

See your Dealer to find out if you fall within the range of affected bikes.

How loose is your chain?

Put the bike up on the centerstand, put it in first, and let it idle in gear - any "kinks" in the chain?

I don't need to add; keep anything away from the moving parts you wish to keep un-damaged/affixed to your body, do I?

In nearly 50k miles, I haven't had any "clicking" problems from the drive on my '04 FZ6 but a worn/binding chain. Replacement is the only sure option - ~$90 or so. (118-link, #530 chain, stick with O-Ring type)

Does it shift smoothly? do you feel a clicking with your foot through the shifter or does it just "feel" like it's coming from there, does it happen in all gears? Most drive line issues on a chain drive bike are either from the front sprocket being worn and the teeth hooked which would cause that clicking feeling or the chain itself binding from tight spots. The front sprocket could have come loose and is moving on the shaft.. What you need to do is get the rear wheel off the ground and get your ear down there by the sprocket. turn the wheel by hand with the engine off first to see if you can find it. then veeery carefully with the engine running.

Either you need to find a simple fix like a loose or worn drivetrain componant or you need to pay a shop to find it for you, I wouldn't ignore it if I were you.
