Re: World Super Duc

Who knows what next year's rule change will bring. Maybe the manufacturers will be too busy worrying about MotoGp to give WSB a serious go. As for the one in ten how much of that is due to Walker's local knowledge that he is in the top bunch and not the lightning speed of his Kawasaki?

Cheers

Breaking News!!!

<a href="http://venus.13x.com/roadracingworld/scripts/NewsInsert.asp?insert=3788">Bayliss is hurt and Edwards has the pole<a>

The narrow gap between Bayliss and Edwards takes on new significance as Bayliss appears to be out of it and point-free this weekend. This kind of racing luck is a worst case for WSBK.

Re: World Super Duc

Leave Ducati along. Let the rest come up to Ducati's standards as Honda and Aprillia have shown they can. They just need to put more top race bikes in the hands of top privateers with all the good parts as Ducati has done.

Ducati will go down hard next year...

Yep and 3 Duc factory bikes doesn't hurt. Next year Ducati is going down hard. :) I'll bet Honda kicks there tail in MotoGP as well. :) Seriously, Ducati has done a great job of building to the rules. Being a inline 4 fan it will be interesting to see how the rule changes will even the odds. You have to admit the twin's 250 cc advantage is nice thing to have over the inline 4 s. Don't compare to Formula Extreme bike because those are really just stock 1000s. Wait till Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha perhaps Honda show up with a race tuned 1000cc bike (factory supported). Duc is going down hard

Re: Why not ...

I don't care, but it seems easier to just link the content and write a few paragraphs of commentary to initiate the rant.

I answered one of your repsonses a while back and suggested that you submit some of this kind of news.

Re: Ducati will go down hard next year...

If British Superbike championship is anything to go by Honda and others are going to have to try harder as the Ducs are still pulling it off there against the 1000 4s. Kiwi Simon Crafar is back in racing on a Yamaha R1 but is really only making top ten and not putting the Ducs down hard.

Re: Ducati will go down hard next year...

BSB rules are a little different I believe. Also do you really think the Big 4 are bringing it all for a minor league/second rate series like BSB. The inline pilots in the BSB are has-beens and young kids aren't they? Why because riders (up and coming) in the past have wanted to get experience on twins so they could go to WSB. Remember the rule change for WSB was annnounced only

a few months ago. I suspect BSB will see more riders (up and coming) make a switch to inline 4 s

Bostorm beat Hayden today in the AMA superbike race at Mid-Ohio on a ancient ZX-7. Do you really think he would do worse on a new ZX-10?? Do you also think Gobert on a Factory R-1 would be waxed by Ducatis and RC51s? I don't think so. Maybe you guys have staring at that picture of the girl in the Ducati jacket too long. :)

Re: Ducati will go down hard next year...

Remember I'm a Honda man not a Duc fan, girl in jacket or not. All I was saying is they will have to do better than they currently are in BSB. With the main teams concentrating on MotoGP I'm not sure how much effort they are going to put into WSB - but time will tell. Like you I am sure they can give Duc a run for their money if they try hard enough and if they don't its not a forgone conclusion that Duc will be trumped. I also think the Duc MotoGP bike might be a good one given it is a bit different. Besides all this Troy Bayliss has been one helluva rider this year and hasn't made life easy for Colin. Being a Southern Hemisphere dude myself I should have been backing Troy, but then he doesn't ride a Honda so Colin has been my man even though he is from USA.

Re: Breaking News!!! Update Bayliss will ride

According to Speed channel Bayliss will ride with his rib injury. I became a Baylis fan when he feel twice in a race and still managed to complete the race (5th I think). I think we are watching a racing legend.

Re: Breaking News!!! Update Bayliss will ride

Bayliss is a great Aussie battler. He still managed 4th in superpole even after his crash so I was expecting him to be there. Don't be surprised if he wins as usual.

Re: Breaking News!!!

Bayliss is undergoing tests for injuries to his upper back and is also suffering from pain in a kidney.

Thank God for big favors.

Bit of premature reporting here, though.
