Erik Buell Interview
I knew Erik way back when he lived in Gibsonia. I had seen the Buell signs attached to a few of the Harley Davidson shop signs. It was our friend Steve, who told me that yes, that was our Erik. Your article regarding the career about Erik Buell is highly enthusiastic and strictly technical. But, what about the man himself. Erik is an extremely intelligent, hyperfocused individual. The article, however, is notably lacking in, just who is this man? Has success served him well? What is happening in his life? The personal side of the man is missing from the article. The article is one dimensional. Add another dimension, the human factor and you'll have a fantastic piece of work.
The Thunderstorm motor that's in there now is the best for that application. That type of riding requires a ton of grunt, not high rpm ponies. I have half a mind to trade my Dyna and my Bandit in for an '08 1200XT ! for the type of riding I do the Uly with a trunk, bags and heated grips would be the bees knees, perfect for commuting year round, great in the mountain passes and good for hauling groceries plus 50 mpg to boot. How about never?
I'll help you out. I'll give you $2500 straight up! Today only! don't let this deal pass you buy! I'll probably need some KY Jelly for when I try to trade in an '05 carburated 88 though, 6 sp 96's are about the only things holding any real value at trade in time.
Even though KBB trade-in value on the Bandit is $2740, since yer' an internet buddy, former Suzuki owner and a fellow Navy vet, I'll take that $2500 and call it a deal!I'll help you out.
