He's gone. Man, I remember reading about him when I was a kid. He had just started out and used to jump up and over a MC heading straight at him. Until one hit him right in the nads. That must have been 1968 or 1969. He had a huge impact on me. Got me interested in bikes. Never wanted to risk my life like him but, he was The Man.

Any thoughts on him? All riders and bike buffs owe a tip of the hat to him. Truly bigger than life and no doubt he infused a LOT into the bike industry.

Jeezus. The TV in the gym this morning had nothing Evel crashing at Caesar's, over and over and over.......

He wasn't a saint, but never claimed to be. First "Extreme" guy? Maybe.

Knievel complained at the time that Saltman's book, "Evel Knievel on Tour," insulted his family and portrayed him as "an alcoholic, a pill addict, an anti-Semite and an immoral person."
Uh, wasn't all that true and more?
