You're sure that there hasn't been a corresponding rise in registrations?

Personally, I don't know. You certainly can't tell from the article. There's been no study, no compiled data, nothing. Just conjecture and guesswork.

The NYTimes would be Proud.

Re: I've always wondered...

Have you seen the size of Euro bike tags?

Only slightly smaller than the size of US car tags (about the same width, only a bit shorter top to bottom).

Funny, him citing sources to me (that he hasn't even checked-out to see if what he cites actually exists), and then questioning the source of your data, eh?

You guys are right about the "Irony" thing.

Re: I've always wondered...

On small bikes (like a HawkGT!) a couple of friends of mine told me they a) attach them with little springs under the retaining nuts - as they tend to "flap" a bit in the breeze, creating stress-cracks if they're mounted solid. And, b) trim the plate a bit around the edges (which is ILLEGAL if you're caught!).

I don't recall, but you're probably correct.

Re: I've always wondered...

That jives with the article which sez they're 6x3 - a bit smaller than the ~7x4 of a MO, AR, KS, OK, IL, and TN tag. Other States may be the same size.
