Ok here we go since I got first post I will use this oportunity to ask a series of questions.
1. Is this going to be the base for the suzuki Superbike next year since the 4's go to 1000?
2. Is Yamaha going to get back into Superbike next year since they can use the R-1?
3. What will happen to Kawasaki? and for god sake why can't they update the ZX-9 to a ZX-10 and race the mo-fo.
4. If Eric Bostrom signed on to Kawasaki next year what bike is he going to ride ZX-9 in AMA or the GP?
Ok I am done. Oh one more thing that girl is hot. Ok that's it. Give me some answers Johnnyb.

What's that bike behind the gixxer
Is that the bandit? I don't think its the SV1000 because the instrument cluster does not match.
My questions:
1. Is the SV1000 at Intermot, if so what's the European MSRP so we can get a guess at USA MSRP.
2. Is the 2003 Honda 919 on display? If so did the "long chain" get resolved (the 2002 model chain was too long, from the factory it was halfway through the adjustment range sitting on the showroom floor.
3. Can you touch the stuff? What's the suspension look like on the SV1000, mushy or not?
4. Is that KTM Duke Supermotard thing there? What's it look like?

The bike behind the GSXR is probably a GSX1400. A retro/standard bike that competes against the likes of the Honda CB1300SF, Yamaha XJR1300 and Kawasaki ZRX1200.

The AMA has yet to confirm the rules package for superbikes. To quote Tom Halverson (Yamaha) from an ariticle at cyclenews.com:
"We don't have any superbike rules yet and I'm sure that's holding a lot of people up, but I think on our side it's doubtful that we'll have anything to make us competitive in superbike. The way it's looking right now is that we'll concentrate on 600 and Formula Xtreme."

I am a fan of the new styling on Suzuki's Sport line. I'd like a better view of the front headlight cluster though.

cyclenews.com is reporting that Yamaha, who has lost Anthony Gobert to Ducati but still has Aaron signed (along with Buckmeister), will concentrate on FX and supersport next year, since still nobody knows what's up with superbike.
My vote is for an entirely new spec based on for torsion power. You know -- rubber-band motors. All those boney pit-girls would get replaced by stout Russian women who'd pull their weight by winding up their team's powerplant on the starting grid, then hold them in place until the flag. Think of the advantages -- no emission or noise issues (at least from the bikes), no restrictor plates, pit stops would be a blast to watch, no fluids (except maybe bodily) on the track when something breaks, and it would foster a whole new wave of innovation from the rubber companies.

This is a joke, right? I can't believe Honda would let something like this slip by their quality control people.

I own a 919 and the chain does come as new near the end of its adjustment. There is still enough adjustment left and after 11,000 miles I still have plenty of adjustment. Some people just love to complain about problems they think exist!

Hey itchy... If there was any doubt I've got pretty strong evidence that the SV1000 is coming to the states. Check out the closeups of the instrument clusters on the motostation web site. On the naked model it is clearly Km/h and celsius, on the "s" model it is mph and fahrenheit baby. I can't think of another major market besides us that uses MPH and fahrenheit.
And about the chain, there's no whining here. Even Honda agrees its a problem and has replaced many peoples chains and sprockets free of charge. Have a bran muffin and don't be so defensive. I'm just doing my homework and trying to make an educated decision on my next purchase. Anything I can use to bargain with on a leftover 02 is good for me. But now with the lighter, faster, sexier SV1000 I might just have to take the risk of buying an SV1000 in the first model year.

Gadzooks! That thing (not the girl) is about 75% as ugly as the new Ducati 999.
Do you have any information on Suzuki's new(2003) DL-1000? I would love to know what they have in store for that bike!
