A 3000 mile relocation from the Washington, D.C. area to San Francisco is all but a done deal. Any natives have advice about living and/or riding in the bay area?

Good lord, I'm not a big fan of California, but DC is a pit! Enjoy San Francisco and all the fun rides that come with it. Drive down to San Diego and T.P. Buz's house when you get the chance.

The wife and I both enjoy SF. I've got some friends out there. And it seems awfully motorcycle friendly.

Incidentally, if you ever consider renting a big touring bike to travel up the shoreline highway... don't.

Gabe might be someone to talk to about that. The cool thing is you'll be near some of the best riding on God's green Earth. The Bay Area is like DC with more freaks so it shouldn't be that big of an adjustment.
