I found this beauty at my buddy's shop in Encinitas. It's a 1990 FXR. It's very clean. Mostly stock. S&S carb, mid-glide forks and upgraded brake rotors, Bub exhaust. The paint is tastefully done.

The owner will sell it for 12 grand. So much for those falling Evo prices!

Sorry for the crappy picture. I took it with my phone.

Happy birthday, Buz. For a second, I thought you were announcing your self bought gift.

I'm still having difficulty in understanding why someone would pay $12K for an 18 year old Evo when a 2008 TC96 FX is only $11,995. But then I don't understand reality TV either.

'Cuz in two years, that '90 will be a Classic, whereas the '08 model is just some made-O'-tin POS...........

BTW - Happy Burfday, Buz!

Sherrif John says: Put another candle on the birthday cake..

...you're another year old today. We'll have some pie and sandwitches, and chocolate ice creme too, we'll sing and play, the day away, and one more thing I'm gonna do...

I'l clean all the sparkplugs on your two strokes too, and when I do a wish I'll make, I'll blow out the spark plugs on your birthday cake, you're another year old today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! YOU'RE ANOTHER YEAR OLD TODAY!

(as you can see I've been hanging around the still again...hic..)

Nobody thought my Shovel would sell for what it did either. FXR's are esoteric enough that they may get that price one day soon. Or, he could say:

DRIPPING IN CHROME! CLEAN TITLE IN HAND!! TOO MANY EXTRAS TO LIST!!! CUSTOM EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE STUFF THAT ISN'T CUSTOM!!!! MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN!!!!! DIVORCE FORCES SALE!!!!!!! HEMMOROID OPERATION IS CASH ONLY, SELLER DESPERATE!!!!!!!!!!

You fiend.

Now that Sherrif John birthday song is running in my head and won't stop. The only thing I can do in self-defense is to counter with the Chucko the Clown song:

I'm Chucko, I'm Chucko,
I'm Chucko the Birthday Clown
I'm Chucko, Yes, Chucko
I'm the happiest guy in town!

... and twirl the little carousel hat at you.

The difference is that Shovelhead's are an icon, while an FXR is an Evo engine in a frame that actually handled well before this dipsh*t "customized" it. The market's tanked, I can't see it selling for $12 bills, not around here anyway. A stock one might bring a good price but you're just not going to get that kind of money on what was not a popular design in the first place.

+1 on the "Nice bike...How much?"

I loved my '88 LowRider. I did everything to that bike I could to improve its road-manners, except increase the displacement.

$12K? It'd never make that around here.

But you never know. There might be a guy that used ot have a '90 just like it, and would pay the bux to have it again.
