A fantastic movie to rent (Blockbuster has copies) I give this movie 5 stars and four thumbs up. If you're into old dirt bikes and the desert racing scene, this movie is a must see item.
Here's a promo blurb from the producers:
Established in the 1960s, the Hare & Hound Classic is one of the world's premier off-road motorcycle races, taking racers through the Mojave Desert (Lucerne Valley) into some of the harshest racing terrain imaginable.
The legendary event was still in its infancy when acclaimed sports documentarian Bruce Brown (THE ENDLESS SUMMER, ON ANY SUNDAY) traveled to California to film the 1967 Hare & Hound Classic, which included professional racers J.N. Roberts, Buck Smith, and Larry Berquist among its 800 participants.
Co-edited by Wes Brown (Bruce's grandson) and his filmmaking partner, T.J. Barrack, BAJA 1000 CLASSIC assembles Brown's never-before-released footage into a high-adrenaline documentary that serves as a historic look at the dawn of off-road motorcycle racing.
