I'm sure that William Harley and his friends Arthur and Walter Davidson would be LTFAO right now. Wondering why so many people buy bikes that are marginally better than the originals they designed almost 100 years ago and at a premium.

I'm sure they'd be real proud of the cell phone addition.

HD cell phones and HD credit cards, who sez Harley's don't have a tool kit? It's nice that you can install your owned ringer music, I'll bet Y.M.C.A. is popular, or "We are the champions" given the inate sense of superiority required to make up for lack of actual skills I'm assuming the holster has concho's and fringe, how about a fringed antenna cover? Reminds me of Iacoca with his statue of liberty-buy American ( mitsubishi ) engined K-cars. The Motorola radio's we use at work are pretty good but does HD and Motorola really have to extract every last penny from their customers?.

I smell a product liability lawsuit coming

What happens when your tassled finger chaps get tangled with your tassled cell phone chaps as you reach for your tassled brake lever chaps to try and slow down for the ex-stripper flashing her tassled ass-less standard-issue chaps at H-D's 100th? I can only imagine the EMTs trying to cut their way through the tangle just to get to the carnage!

Re: Outstanding American Institutions: Harley-Davidson and Motorola

Aw, ain't life grand? You can become a REAL AMERICAN without ever having to do anything that includes the slightest personal inconvenience. People used to have to fight or serve or volunteer or something.

But today you can avoid all that unpleasantness and just buy a Harley!! Then REAL AMERICAN SUPERIORITY status is automatically conferred. Neat, huh?

Really? I always thought that Harley's original and unique braking system was the one where the rider just plowed into a large immobile object.

My Harley has a tool kit (yep, just a crappy as the one that came with your Honda).

My Harley has a cigarette lighter,

My Harley has a light in the trunk....

I don't use the tool kit,

I don't smoke,

I can see in the trunk fine without the light....

I really don't need nor wanted the options on my bike, don't need a H-D cell phone either (at least I have a choice on that one).....like someone else said earlier

Good Grief

I started riding Harleys in 1985. I have owned about 10. I am so so so sick of this stuff. I used to be proud to be on my Harley. Now I am always a little embarassed when I tell people what I ride. BTW I'm 40 and would appear to be a RUB.
