Bandit oil consumption is the problem, I believe. Don't know about Carb problems except the usual EPA mandated way-too-lean-save-the-enviroment stock settings, I got bit by the VFR regulator bug twice on my '97, no fun, and no help from Honda either. I've got to respect Buell for stepping up with the shock re-call, It's like pulling teeth to get any of the other factorys to admit they ****ed up.

A serious question. What does a roller bearing look like that is "starting to fail". I've never seen one. I've seen failed and good but never between. If that bearing was starting to fail, as you state, then you caught it maybe milliseconds before it self destructed. Were the rollers flatsided? Cage deformed? Interested, if you can give me an answer.

LOL, is this a big surprise? It's a Harley for Christs sake! Sure Harley's sell. Posers will spend any amount of money to achieve an image. Riding a Harley is like the doof's in the 70's who wore their shirts unbuttoned down to their navels and then wearing a gawdy gold chain.

Harley cannot build a bike and that...... I would think, would make these "buy American" band wagon ppl totally ashamed.

Now a Buell amost has me interested, but not yet. They still need an engine.

Japenese, Italian and German. Those are the countries I buy bikes from.

Now my car... Corvette baby! I DO think us yanks put out a quality car :)

I understand that there have been problems with the carbs that don't show up until the bike gets somehting like 40K miles. Some of the internal plastic parts dissolve. The solution is to buy new carb bodies ($400 each) or do some brass resurfacing (very difficult).

Since 40K is way past the warranty period Suzuki is home free.

Excellent news! It used to be that if it had two wheels all was well, then the posers and the Highwayman's came on and everything changed. That was a real shame, this should bring them down a peg or two, I propose that everybody who uses these fine website start a campaign against discrimination on two wheels and specially against the HWM,

You just can't resist tweaking the "Harleys are really crappy, though I've never ridden, much less owned one" crowd, can you?

Re: I can almost hear the giggles from here!

Since you aren't man enough to say what you ride, I guess you wouldn't get it either. I really hate it when kids play on their parents' computer.

I don't understand.....only the '99 and '00 models are defective? Seems they could have spread this out to include every engine they built since, oh, at least 1970, when motorcycle technology finally waved bye-bye to Harley Davidson.
