fuel capacity

I'd agree. If you're churning out mass mileage, the V-Rod ain't your bike, if only for fuel capacity reasons. However, if you're coming from the point of view of someone who isn't going to Iron Butt it across country and just wants enough "tourability" to cover weekend distances, then the V-Rod's sippy cup-sized tank shouldn't stop you from considering it as a capable tool for the task at hand.

My tool

Yeah, the utter and complete lack of need for my "tool" at the Santa Maria gig is a whole sordid tale unto itself. I've been feeling a little self-conscious about turning all of my stories into Harlequin romance novels gone bad though, but next time you're in SaMo again, we'll talk.

Re: almost forgot

I'm sure you just got caught up in trying to make your point, but I have to protest when you accuse Arlen Ness of doing nothing but making clones of Harleys. His custom work includes some of the most original and imaginative bikes ever built. Sorry man, but I couldn't let that slide.

Otherwise, I agree. The masses are clamoring to see that Revolution engine wrapped in a variety of packages and rightly so. Maybe if we all jump up at a pre-appointed time and shout "Hey, Willie G!" when we land, the earth will move and the H-D brass will heed our MOronic call. Hey, I've had dumber ideas.
