I'd agree. If you're churning out mass mileage, the V-Rod ain't your bike, if only for fuel capacity reasons. However, if you're coming from the point of view of someone who isn't going to Iron Butt it across country and just wants enough "tourability" to cover weekend distances, then the V-Rod's sippy cup-sized tank shouldn't stop you from considering it as a capable tool for the task at hand.
