Linkie still Hinky - I clicky, no-workie...........
How about minding your own business you quota-hire affirmative-action bureaucrat? I don't give a flying f**k if you ride a motorcycle. You're still a nanny-fascist and like all bureaucrats you got your job because you are the biggest [email protected] in a culture of lying backstabbing [email protected] You rotten lazy incompetent and abysmally stupid paper pushers have ruined every area of society you've put your noses into as long as I can remember. Just leave us the f**k alone. Go back to turning the inner cities into war zones and undermining the currency.

At the least we should have someone in this job who doesn't have a history of dropping her Harley.

Funny, most people with a half-assed view of the world (like she's expressed in her other statements) talk-about how Helmets "will break your neck in a crash", or, "if they save your life, you'll be a vegetable for the rest of your days"...............
Why don't we just scrap the Harley and call it a day? So many other injuries could occur that is isn't really worth riding at all.
Gee, the Sec of Transportation is a Woman, who rides a Harley. And is for helmet saftey. How can that be bad dr. seru? Mr. Arai saved my arse from death I'm sure. Even though some times I wish I was wearing a ball cap...

Where's Joan Claybrook when you need her?
Why don't you tell us what you really think?????

I Washington State part of your M/C drivers license fee goes to support rider education and it's matched by federal funds( I believe anyway)..I think it's fine for them to advocate helmet use, a moot point because it's a helmet law state anyway but this is like the DOT threats to with-hold Highway funds to states with no seatbelt laws..........

Didn't we already fight a war over "States Rights"...something along the lines of all laws not spelled out in the Constitution are for the States to determine?
I'm with seruzawa on this. I don't like robbing Peter to pay Paul. In this case Peter, Training, is very important. Training is probably more important than more "wear a helmet" TV ads. I have found most folks who don't want to wear a helmet are not going to be convinced by a simple TV ad. Among bikers the topic of helmet laws is kind of like topics like religion and politics, best not to go there. :)

I got an idea. People who think having the Fed govt pushing it's nose into every aspect of life is a good idea...... they can take up a collection and pay for it themselves.

I can't find any reference that justifies the Fed Govt's involvement in personal safety decisions anywhere in the constitution. Just because something might be a good idea and that you like it doesn't mean that everyone else is required to pay for it.

Requiring yearly safety inspections of your house and dresser drawers is a good idea too. It'll reduce accidents in the home. It might just save one life so it's worth it!
A little off topic but didn't they try to pull the same crap over increasing the speed limits? with-holding Federal Highway Funds to states that broke away from the Federal 55 mph speed limit? I remember a pretty big stink over that too.. These little hitlers act like it's their money they're playing with, they forget who's paying their wages.
Well then...

...don't stop there. I'm sure there are other safety measures that she could promote illegally with extorted tax dollars. Naturally everyone else should be forced to pay for all these great ideas. Just look at how effective the War on Drugs has been. Yep, by all means. More Fed intrusion at every level.

I don't care how good it all sounds. Motorcyclists will rue the day they ever welcomed direct Fed involvement.
Nothing wrong with her wanting to wear a helmet. I could give a flying f&ck what she wears. Just leave me out of the grand plans of safety. If she was really safe, and I already said this a thousand times, just travel in a car. She wouldn't have fallen over and problem is solved.
Yeah.

Tricky Dyck's 55MPH national speed limit. Anyone who lived in the west learned to curse that pointless exercise. Droning for hours and hours across the plains at 55MPH. Shudder.

That's the liability of taking Federal money... which is in fact your money. Take even one dollar and they take control of the entire operation. The irony is that it's your money to begin with. To get $1 from the Fed you have to send them $5 in the first place! LOL!
